The LCIDN (Lane County Immigrant Defense Network) put out a call to action during the No Kings 2.0 protest to get involved in ICE Watch in your neighborhood. Migra Watch training will be held this Thursday from 5pm-7pm. There is limited capacity so you'll want to register soon to confirm a place and please only register if you're confident you can make it and (as of now) willing to jump in to the response network.

The federal government is shut down, and trans healthcare/rights are at the center of this shutdown fight. We must keep it that way until every anti‑trans provision is removed from all appropriation bills.

The current drafts include:

• Cutting Medicaid and Medicare coverage for trans people of any age

• Banning trans athletes from competing in sports that match their gender identity

• Removing protections for LGBTQ+ foster children

• Prohibiting the display of Pride flags in public spaces

A shutdown hurts everyone, but giving in to these discriminatory changes would be far worse. Attacks on trans healthcare are attacks on all healthcare - the government should not interfere with any of our lifesaving care.

Tell your representatives: the shutdown must continue unless these anti‑trans measures are taken out of all spending legislation.

The government shutdown coupled with 47’s fiscal priorities (funding ICE, money to Argentina, building a ballroom) will cut off SNAP benefits to 757,000 OR residents after Oct. 31. We must join and support our local food pantries NOW. This fascist regime continues to attack our most vulnerable communities, this time the poor, half of whom are children or seniors, in the hopes that they can divide us, but we know that we‘re STRONGER TOGETHER.

Home Depot - “Despite the pleas of immigration advocates, Home Depot managers have refused to prohibit I.C.E. raids on their premises. The company is directly benefiting from the ICE raids as they own detention centers.” Go to Jerry’s or True Value.

Spotify - This popular music app is running disgraceful ICE ads with users reporting ad messages like, “millions of dangerous illegals are rampaging the streets. Join ICE today,” and, of course, the $50,000 signing bonus. Get your music elsewhere.

Demand that Adelita Grijalva be sworn in to office by Speaker Mike Johnson immediately. “Johnson is delaying seating Grijalva because she represents the 218th — and final — signature on a discharge petition needed to force a House vote to compel the Justice Department to release all of its files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation.” - source

The attorney general for Arizona has also sued the House of Representatives (did you know that could be done???) because Speaker Mike Johnson won’t swear her in. These fascists are trying to protect their Fascist in Chief. Call your reps (listed above) and demand she’s sworn in.
