The City of Eugene has turned the Flock cameras off due to the community coming together and fighting back. Now it is time to TERMINATE THE FLOCK CONTRACT!

PACK THE EUGENE CITY COUNCIL MEETING 10/27, 7pm, CITY HALL (500 E 4TH ST)

From the Lane County Immigrant Defense Network (LCIDN): Tuesday, October 28, is the last Tuesday of the month, typically with the most ICE/DHS activity, and we expect to be out at the federal building in Eugene at 6th and Pearl demonstrating throughout the day. Please prepare to come out whenever you can for as long as you can in the late morning and afternoon and, if you like, prepare some comments about why you came out to support migrant families in case you want to take a turn on the megaphone! ✊ Please look over the pictures above for more details. PIRC Migra Watch

From the Lane County Immigrant Defense Network (LCIDN): "Thanks to everyone who came out to the PIRC Migra Watch training on Oct. 23. We hope to host more of those in the near future to bulk up our ability to respond to ICE in the community. Keep an eye on the Signal chat (click here to join for announcements and actions) if you weren't able to attend!

Last weekend we had a visit from La Resistencia, a grassroots organization led by undocumented immigrants based in Tacoma, WA that is fighting to SHUT DOWN the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC), the private immigrant detention facility there owned by the GEO Group. They visited last week with their traveling exhibit "Melting ICE" that uplifts voices from inside the NWDC. One campaign they highlighted is the "Free Them All" campaign. This campaign has stories shared by people currently detained inside of the NWDC as well as petitions for their release. They and we all understand that the NWDC will not be closed down by petitions, but the petitions help show the people inside that people outside are with them and are also often used in parole hearings to show support for people's individual release. The campaign is a valuable part of a sum total of work that La Resistencia engages in and is an easy way to start supporting." Check out their suggestions for ways to take action.

The Kiva is celebrating their 55th anniversary on Oct. 31!!!

The Kiva is one of many local grocers that have a long legacy of providing the community with locally-sourced, organic products and a down-to-earth appeal. Choosing to spend your money locally is one way to fight fascism. In celebration of their 55 years in Eugene, they are inviting the community to join them on Oct. 31 from 11am-3pm. From their Instagram: “We will have many local vendors here with samples for all of you ghouls and goblins. Raffle prizes and more! We hope to see you then! Also, for those of you who were eagerly waiting for more witch hats, they have arrived! Get them while they’re here! Happy fall everyone!”

Let local businesses know their rights in the face of ICE
