The Starbucks Workers United union needs our support! They’re on strike at numerous locations in our community, but scabs have recently crossed the picket line at the 7th and Washington location. Please visit our blog page for more information on ways you can support these baristas as they deal with issues like short staffing, unpredictable scheduling, low pay, rising healthcare costs, harassment, broken equipment, and unfair discipline.

Amazon wants to build a giant freaking warehouse on the wetlands by the airport!!!

YOU may have heard about this, but have all of your Eugenian friends and neighbors heard about it? Spread the word!

Go to this site where you can submit comments about how bad this would be for the wetlands habitat. Here is the original application put forth by TC Pursuit Services, Inc. We have until Jan. 2, 2026 to let the state know that we’re not ok with this project. Look at all of the comments that have already been submitted!!!

NOTE: Make sure to mention the harm that would be caused to the wetland habitat. Please read this article from the Dissonant Times to learn more about the potential environmental impact of warehouse construction on our wetlands. Let the state know that we don’t want Amazon and Jeff Bezos poisoning our city with more of his money-making pursuits.

More ways to stand in solidarity with our immigrant friends and neighbors! Eugene Friends of the Farm Workers (EFFW) is advancing a call to boycott Windmill Mushrooms, who refuses to recognize the union their workers elected to form in 2022 and regularly mistreats workers. 

1. Sign the petition.
2. Don’t buy Windmill. Buy local mushrooms. (mushrooms are great and have many health benefits!)
3. Ask Safeway management to stop buying Windmill until the company agrees to a fair contract. Reach out to Collin Heatley, Oregon boycott cmte coordinator, at collinheatley@gmail.com if you can help.
