Billionaire broligarchs want to manufacture an education crisis to then initiate state takeovers. They can then tailor the education system, curriculum and all, to suit their needs. They need a nation of people who can’t think critically. They need a nation of people who can be indoctrinated with their worldview, are subservient, and easily manipulated. They’d much rather have their AI in charge of teaching our kids as a means of achieving these ends. Our local school boards and district leadership have failed our communities in their handling of the funding crisis. The writing is on the wall, but that writing will soon be illegible. Look at what they’re doing with AI in Houston schools after the state takeover. “The strategic logic is straightforward. Universities produce independent knowledge. They train critical thinkers. The institutions we depend on - our universities, our public services, our independent judiciary, our right to organize - are under systematic attack. The window for effective action is open, but it will not stay open indefinitely. Autocrats need us to feel powerless. They need us to accept the slow erosion of democratic norms as inevitable.
