This is an urgent plea to the community from the Lane County Immigrant Defense Network (LCIDN):

TODAY, Tuesday, October 28, is the last Tuesday of the month, typically with the most ICE/DHS activity, and we expect to be out at the federal building in Eugene at 7th and Pearl demonstrating throughout the day. We have seen arrests and detentions at these appointments DROP sharply, and our presence at the building is one factor that has helped make that happen! However, as many may have may have seen or heard, they took someone again yesterday!

All Eyes on ICE: Tuesday, October 28, 11am-4pm, Eugene Federal Building, 211 E 7th Ave.

11am: Rally (7th/Pearl). Current political situation around immigration, vigil for lives taken by ICE, plans for the near term of the fight. If you have something to say about why you come out to the federal building, come say it!

12pm: Interfaith Vigil, 7th/Pearl.

1pm: Silent protest, 6th/Pearl.

2pm: On-site know your rights training and/or other study

In recent weeks, with an increase in personnel after the funding glut from the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, ICE has been engaging in more community arrests—that is, arresting people out in the community at their homes, in their cars on the way to work or school, etc. So while we continue to maintain our presence at the building, we are also looking to expand capacity to respond rapidly to these ICE activities in the community.
