Get Flock Out of Eugene/Springfield
Flock’s AI cameras are a tool for repression.
Join efforts by Eyes Off Eugene to kick out the widely unpopular and invasive surveillance system that gives the federal government a back door into our day-to-day movements.

From Eyes Off Eugene:
The Eugene Police Department installed an AI-powered surveillance system in Eugene—without even telling the Police Commission. 67 Flock cameras from the company Flock Safety are capturing every vehicle on Eugene’s roads. In Springfield, police are installing 25 of the same cameras.
Surveillance doesn’t equal safety.
Unreasonable Search - Flock cameras track and store the movements of every vehicle—yours included—without a warrant, suspicion, or consent. This is not targeted policing; it is mass surveillance of the entire population.
Data is Misused - Flock camera data is commonly misused and shared without oversight. The data can be saved indefinitely and shared with hundreds of outside agencies, including ICE, putting our immigrant neighbors (and other marginalized targets) at direct risk.
Prone to Error - Their AI-based detection system is prone to error, leading to false positives and dangerous mistakes.
Violates Privacy - The system lacks robust privacy and security measures, leaving all of our personal biometric data at risk.
Chills Free Speech - Constant surveillance threatens our freedom of expression. When people know they are being tracked, they are less likely to attend a political protest, visit a specific place of worship, or organize within their community. This is not safety; it is suppression.
Wastes Money - The system is a massive waste of money, locking our cities into yearly contracts in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
