How do we fight fascism?
Together.
Community Events
GTFF has their next session with the UO on July 2. They would love to have people there from all over town to show that Eugene has their backs! You can also join on zoom at bit.ly/gtffzoom2
If you've never been to a bargaining session, it can be a really enlightening experience to see how management at a large organization like UO sees those who work to accomplish the real mission of the place.
They will have coffee and food, come for as long or short as you like!
Quaker public witness has long stood in opposition to cruel and authoritarian actions in our country. In this moment of rising authoritarianism and fascism, we are called to live that tradition again—together, in public.
Please join the American Friends Service Committee and Eugene are Friends for a nationwide day of action: a Declaration of Resistance On July 4, as the United States marks its 250th anniversary, communities across the country will gather in public spaces to bear witness, speak truth, and act together.
On Saturday July 4 at 11:00am, we will gather at the Eugene Federal Building for one hour of collective witness. Together, we will affirm: We will protect people and communities. We will resist authoritarian government. We will build a free, equal and just future. As part of this gathering, participants will be invited to sign a shared, art-based Declaration of Resistance—a visible expression of collective commitment that connects communities across the country and continues beyond this day as an ongoing witness. In recent months, thousands have gathered in more than 40 cities for Love as Action, with tens of thousands more encountering this message of resistance. This July 4 builds on that growing movement—bringing people together in a coordinated, nationwide moment of moral clarity. Our hope is that our presence will give hope to all who see us—to show that resistance is possible, that we are not alone, and that we share responsibility for the future we are shaping together. We gather in the tradition of public witness, in this context against authoritarianism. Holding space for reflection, grounding, and faithful public witness in a time that calls for courage. Join us. A NEW LETTER FROM DELANEY CONCENTRATION CAMP (5/31/26)
La Union de Secuestrados por ICE (USI), the Union of People Kidnapped by ICE, was officially formed on April 5, 2026 in the North West Detention Center (NWDC) in Tacoma, WA. You can read their full statement (pictured above), written by one of the Union’s leaders, Rogelio Bolufé.
Bolufé, along with other individuals detained at the Tacoma concentration camp, organized a hunger strike in May 2026. More than 200 detainees were to participate. But Bolufé and other USI leaders were disappeared by ICE hours after the strike began. Their sudden transfers led many participants to abandon the strike, fearing retaliation.
The whereabouts of Bolufé and other USI leaders are still unknown.
Hunger strikes are forming in concentrations camps across the country in Washington, California, Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, and likely many other unknown places.
Mora-Cheung, the director of organizing at La Resistencia, says the wave of hunger strikes appears to be spontaneous and not nationally coordinated. Their increasing frequency is likely a response to worsening conditions in detention centers under this administration.
