Background

Immigrants in America are being abducted by ICE, often while lawfully attending immigration court hearings, and often without warrants. Many who are abducted are being denied their Constitutional right to due process. They are being sent to prisons with inhumane conditions, sometimes in countries far away from their countries of origin.

Court rulings have shot down this illegal, immoral treatment of human beings, but the Federal Government is appealing those rulings and doing it anyway. Congress is doing nothing to stop it from happening, so it’s up to us to do everything we can to stop them.

Actions to Take right Now:

  1. Put the PIRC ICE Hotline number in your phone and call if you see ICE nearby - 1-888-622-1510

  2. Check out the Immigrant Defense Toolkit from the Lane County Immigrant Defense Network (LCIDN) for information on the situation and up-to-date calls to action: tinyurl.com/ImmigrantDefenseToolkit

  3. To protest and monitor ICE activity in our area, join the LCIDN Signal chat here: tinyurl.com/ImmigrantDefenseSignal

  4. If you’d like to join LCIDN, or if you want to help in ways that don’t necessarily involve showing up at the Federal Building, fill out this volunteer form here: tinyurl.com/ImmigrantDefenseNetwork
